Range Rules and Regulations (Y2007):

1. Interpretation of Terms:

bullet"Club" shall mean the Waterloo County Revolver Association and/or its properties;
bullet"Director" shall mean any member of the Board of Directors;
bullet"Executive" shall mean the Executive of the club;
bullet"Member" shall mean any full or associate member or their guest or anyone visiting the club;
bullet"Firearm" or "Gun" shall mean any instrument capable of discharging a projectile or pellets either by use of gun powder or compressed air, or gas, or by mechanical means.

2. Range Rules:

    Warning Flags:

bulletAnytime outdoor shooting is in progress, a red flag must be posted in the pipe provided at the parking lot entrance and/or other location as may be required;
bulletRemoval of the flag is to be done by the Range Officer after all shooting has cease or by the last person using the range.
bulletRed/Green signaling flags MUST be used on the Silhouette Range.

3. Shooting Times:

bulletNo firing shall take place on the club grounds before 9:00am and one-half hour after sunset.
bulletShooting shall not be permitted on Sundays before 12 o'clock noon.

4. Guests:

bulletIf a Range Officer is at the club at the time any guest is present, permission must be obtained from him/her before using the club's facilities.
bulletThe member bringing the guest will be entirely responsible for the behavior of his/her guest and will see that he/she abides by all the Club's rules and regulations.

5. Members:

bulletMembers shall refrain from loud discussions or discourse in the vicinity of the firing point when firing is in progress.
bulletMembers shall not:   

            i) handle firearms except with the permission of the owner;

            ii) load or fire any firearm behind the firing point;

            iii) interfere in any way with a member who has taken his place on the firing point;

            iv) engage in the practice of the "fast draw" of handguns;

            v) shoot at any unsafe target;

            vi) hunt on or from club property;

            vii) ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES: no member or guest shall enter club grounds while under the influence of alcohol nor shall anyone consume such beverage within club confines at any time.

6.Other:

bulletOnly members of the Waterloo County Revolver Association and their guests have access to the range facilities;
bulletThe instructions of the Range Officer shall be binding upon all members and guests using the facilities;
bulletA member of the Club must assume the duties of Range Officer before any organized club shooting may commence.  The Range Officer will:

            i) ensure the safe conduct of the shooters;

            ii) regulate competitions and matches, and

            iii) if warranted by the number of shooters wishing to use the range, assign the shooters present to relays;

bulletAll members bringing Restricted/Prohibited Firearms to the range must:

            i) have each firearm properly registered, and

            ii) possess a valid permit to transport restricted/prohibited firearms;

bulletAll handguns brought onto the range must be unloaded and cased;
bulletGuns may be loaded or discharged on the firing line only, except during the course of fire, guns on the bench shall remain unloaded, with the actions open to inspection;
bulletGuns must always be held with muzzles pointed in a safe direction;
bulletNo shooter may be in front of the firing line except when all guns on the line have been inspected and declared safe;
bulletIn the event of a misfire, the gun must remain pointed in a safe direction and the action should not be opened for at least thirty (30) seconds;
bulletPersons not shooting, scoring or instructing must remain clear of the firing line;
bulletEar and eye protection shall be mandatory for anyone shooting, on the firing line or on an active range;
bulletNever leave your gun unattended and loaded;
bulletRemove targets after firing;

7. Violators of posted Range Rules may be asked to leave the premises by the Range Officer and all such occurrences shall be reported to the Club Executive.

8. The club house is for use of all members when it is open.  The club house is to be locked by the last director to leave the property.

9. The front gate is to be kept locked at all times when the club is not in use.  It is to be locked by the last person leaving the club property.  Gate keys are available to members in good standing.
