Membership:

Prospective members must request and submit their application in person to the board of directors at the monthly executive meeting, held on the first Tuesday of each month starting at 8:00pm.   This is basically a friendly interview where we get a chance to meet you and ask you questions about yourself and our mutual interests in the handgun shooting sports.   We require a privacy release to perform a cursory background check and two character references who are not members of WCRA.

WCRA is a club and not a democracy, membership applications can be declined by the board of directors without reason.

Prospective members are encouraged to visit the club on Wednesday evenings or Sunday afternoons.  Our members are friendly.  You can ask questions to see if our club is a personality and/or activity fit for your shooting hobby.  We are a handgun sport shooting club with range facilities and events for: Bullseye, Silhouette, PPC, Defensive Pistol, Cowboy Action and IPSC disciplines.

New members are required to take the handgun safety and range orientation course given by the safety officer.  No exceptions.   There will be class room lectures as well as live fire range exercises.   Be prepared to bring safety glasses and hearing protection.

New members having completed the safety and orientation course are given probationary status for 6 months.  During the probationary period,  access to the range facilities is limited to "open" hours or under supervision of any full member.  For the first 6 months, the probationary member must be witness shooting safely by board member at least once during that month.

New members are not permitted to sponsor guests.  If a new member brings a guest to the club, the guest must be under supervision of a full member.

Carry permits (ATT) for restricted or prohibited firearms are submitted by the club Secretary.  At any time, the club can cancel the sponsorship of a member's ATT with the Chief Firearm's Office.  Sponsorship by our club will be filed once the candidate has successfully completed our safety and range orientation course.
